“Fragments of a theatre route”

The Festival of Two Worlds’ exhibition remains open till Sunday 12 September. Admission is free to Spoleto citizens

The exhibition-tribute that brings to light documents, photographs, period sketches, costumes and stage furnishings that have made the history of the Festival of Two Worlds has been extended until Sunday 12 September to allow tourists and residents to admire real pieces of art made by the skilled hands of the workers in the festival’s various editions.

The exhibition, curated by Piero Maccarinelli, aims to highlight the fundamental work of the craftsmen-artists without whom the festival would not have achieved the international prestige it has. It is a first eclectic survey of costumes selected from the thousands in the festival’s storehouse and represents a preview of the work that will be developed more organically over the next few years in thematic cycles.

The exhibition, housed in the rooms of Palazzo Collicola, is open Friday through Sunday from 10.30 am to 1 pm and from 3.30 pm to 7 pm. Admission is free for residents of Spoleto and young people up to 14 years old, and costs €5.00 (full price ticket), while Spoleto Card holders, the Over-65s, the Under-25s and groups of at least 15 people are entitled to a reduced ticket of €3.00.
