From Stefano Bollani to Steve Hackett, from Antonio Ornano to the International Dance Week
60 appointments scheduled from 21 March to 21 June

From 15 December 2023 to 30 June 2024 Palazzo Toni, in Piazza Carducci 1, home of the Liceo ‘Sansi Leonardi Volta’ in Spoleto, will host the exhibition “Sulle orme di Achille Sansi”.
The event is the final stage of a two-year-long school-work alternation course, during which, thanks to the close collaboration between the school, the State Archives of Perugia-Section of Spoleto and the Municipal Administration-Library ‘Giosuè Carducci’, the students were able to investigate the multifaceted figure of Baron Achille Sansi (historian, poet, archivist, education expert and cultural heritage expert).
The project was realised on the occasion of the bicentenary of Achille Sansi’s birth, in consideration of the commitment he spent on the establishment of the city’s grammar school and the fact that the school is named after him.
The exhibition displays a selection of documents that testify to the rich and varied activities of Achille Sansi, a truly multifaceted genius, and offers an overview of the places where he lived and worked.
Accompanying the visitors during their visit to the exhibition will be the students who carried out the project. The realisation of the initiative was also an opportunity to create a permanent exhibition space within the school.
The exhibition can be visited from 15 December 2023 to 30 June 2024 during school opening hours by appointment: +39 0743 221123 – pgis026007@istruzione.it

In collaboration with IIS SPAGNA-CAMPANI FASHION COURSE
Museum of Textile and Costume – corso Mazzini vicolo III / via delle Terme 5, Spoleto
Opening on Monday, May 6th 2024, at 5:30 PM.
Until Sunday, June 2nd, 2024
Starting from Monday, May 6th, 2024, the Museum of Textile and Costume in Spoleto hosts Costumi d’impronta, an exhibition project by the artist Cristina Bonucci, developed in collaboration with the Fashion Course of IIS Spagna-Campani. Between late 2023 and early 2024, Bonucci developed sketches for a line of swimsuits, in which her interest in fashion is intertwined with her 30 years of experience as a visual artist; subsequently, after a meeting between the artist and the teachers and students of the Fashion Course of the Spagna-Campani Institute, prototypes were made using white linen and ecru linen, which bear the imprints of anatomical parts on the surface.

Not immediately recognizable, these traces give the costumes a characterization and a chromatic ignition, with human body imprints that, decontextualized, veer towards an abstract dimension. The series consists of five prototypes, accompanied by four works on paper and canvas featuring imprints, a recurring element in Cristina Bonucci’s artistic practice.
Since 1999, in fact, the artist had been making works with anatomical parts, brought together within the pictorial cycle Labili tracce d’Esistenza. With Costumi d’impronta Bonucci’s production, which this year marks its thirtieth year of activity, is enriched with a further and unprecedented chapter, thanks to this connection between visual art and fashion design, following the countless moments of encounter between the two worlds that have seen designers draw inspiration from art and vice versa. In this case, the designer coincides with the artist herself.
The exhibition project, which will be on view until June 2 during the opening hours of the museum, is fully in line with the new course of the Spoleto Civic Museums, founded on a continuous exchange with the territory, starting with educational institutions. Not even a year since its reopening, the Textile and Costume Museum, which boasts evidence of textile production since the 14th century, enriches its offerings with an exhibition that – after the exhibition of Adelaide Cioni – once again sees as its protagonist the contemporary artistic creation related to fashion and textiles, in line with the collection and the artifacts preserved within it.
Costumi d’impronta also aims to highlight the Fashion Course of IIS Spagna-Campani, a true excellence of the Spoleto area, thanks also to the commitment of the school principalRita Scagliola and teachers Giuseppina Giardini, Angela Foti and Federica Palombini, who have followed the project and collaboration with Cristina Bonucci since its genesis. Moreover, on Saturday, May 11th, some of the prototypes on display will be featured in the fashion show in Pianciani Square, just a few meters away from the Museum of Textile and Costume, as part of the event ‘Aspettando la tappa’

Biography of the artist
Cristina Bonucci was born in Spoleto in 1965. She approached art in the mid-1990s and, since then, numerous exhibitions and exhibition projects have featured her. Among the main exhibition venues that have hosted her works are Palazzo Collicola in Spoleto, the Museo Civico di Palazzo della Penna in Perugia, the Casa Museo degli Oddi in Perugia, and the Polo Culturale in Trevi. The public artwork Componente del 2, created in 2000, is permanently exhibited along the pathway surrounding the Rocca Albornoz in Spoleto; the artwork A Kengo Kuma 3, 2016, is part of the collection of Palazzo Collicola. Critics and curators who have engaged with her work include Giorgio Bonomi, Diego Fusaro, Gianluca Marziani, Cecilia Metelli, Davide Silvioli, Sanjay Tikku, and Julian Zugazagoitia. Her works are preserved in collections both in Italy and abroad.
