Giancarlo Giannini’s recital is a peculiar meeting of literature and music. The actor, particularly skilled in text analysis, recites a series of passages and poems by Neruda, Garcia Lorca, Marquez, Shakespeare, Angiolieri, Salinas.
The various authors’ chosen passages all share the same theme: Love, Woman, Passion… Life!
Giancarlo Giannini’s voice will be flanked by a series of previously unissued tracks by Neapolitan saxophonist Marco Zurzolo, performed by his quartet.

Saturday 21 July at 21.15, Teatro Romano, it’s the time of MEDITERRANEA, a choreographic circumnavigation through the music produced by Mediterranean cultures. The show was first staged in 1993 by Balletto di Toscana and receives immediate appraisal. In 2008 it is revisited for the Teatro alla Scala, marking Mauro Bigonzetti’s debut at the famous theatre.

Usually, the festival’s tavern opens for dinner and events such as folk music shows are scheduled in the evening.
Mezz’ora dopo la chiusura, the event curated by Sistema Museo, dedicates a series of events to Capolavori del Trecento – Il cantiere di Giotto, Spoleto e l’Appennino, the great exhibition which is being held in 4 different Umbrian towns and features over 70 works from prestigious national and international collections.
The first meeting, in collaboration with the National Museum of the Duchy of Spoleto, is scheduled for Friday July 27 and will be focused on the Maestro delle Palazze, one of the many artists, often anonymous, who became interpreters of the deepest and truest soul of the Apennines.

A journey through the extraordinary dancer’s most meaningful steps, featuring a rare shooting directed by Nureyev, entwined with refined multimedia projections by videoartist Massimiliano Siccardi.

Rudolf Nureyev lives. He lives in the memories of those who saw him soaring up and floating in the air, in his intense performances that made him a true protagonist of classical dance.

In the frame of Le Quattro Stagioni – Spoleto d’Estate, the chamber music group Umbria Ensemble proposes two Concerti dell’alba at the Rocca Albornoziana.
The first one will take place on Saturday 11 August at 6.10, a tribute to Leonard Bernstein on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the great composer’s birth.
The second one, Da Vivaldi ai Beatles, on Saturday 25 August at 6.25, will be a musical journey from Vivaldi to Boccherini, passing through some Beatles’ repertoire, reinterpreted by guitarist Leo Brouwer.

A choir of men. A woman director. A family and a small community that need to regain the sense of unity to face the challenge of tomorrow.
The young cellist Maria is disappointed by the ruthless world of music. She returns to the mountain village of her origins, a small isolated enclave where an archaic language is still spoken: the Cimbrian. Here she finds a complex family situation and a small community struggling with the first effects of climate change. Almost by chance, or perhaps because it is impossible not to be in the only bar in the square, Maria comes into contact with the glorious male polyphonic choir to which her grandfather belonged.

Mezz’ora dopo la chiusura, the event curated by Sistema Museo, dedicates a series of events to Capolavori del Trecento – Il cantiere di Giotto, Spoleto e l’Appennino, the great exhibition which is being held in 4 different Umbrian towns and features over 70 works from prestigious national and international collections.
The second meeting in collaboration with the National Museum of the Duchy of Spoleto is focused on the Maestro di Sant’Alò, another of the many artists, often anonymous, who became interpreters of the deepest and truest soul of the Apennines.

Saturday 18 August at the Complesso Monumentale di San Nicolò (at 21.30) David Riondino will be the protagonist of IL DIO DENARO (Non avrai altro Dio all’infuori di me) e altre letture (Italian for THE MONEY GOD – Thou shalt have no other gods before me – and other readings).
It is a special event included in the Libro d’Ingresso series, that marks a further step in the artistic collaboration between David Riondino and musician Fabrizio De Rossi Re.

On the places of “Don Matteo” TV series
Mezz’ora dopo la chiusura, the weekly event organized by Sistema Museo, waits for you on Friday 24 August 2018 at 19.30 for a special city tour dedicated to Don Matteo TV series.
Walking through the historic centre of the city you will discover the places where Don Matteo, one of the most popular Italian TV series, was shot. The itinerary will be framed by the famous Piazza Duomo, charming location of many scenes, and by the beautiful view of the Ponte delle Torri and the Rocca Albornoziana.
The evening continues with an aperitif.

In the frame of Le Quattro Stagioni – Spoleto d’Estate, the chamber music group Umbria Ensemble proposes two Concerti dell’alba at the Rocca Albornoziana.
The first one will take place on Saturday 11 August at 6.10, a tribute to Leonard Bernstein on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the great composer’s birth.
The second one, Da Vivaldi ai Beatles, on Saturday 25 August at 6.25, will be a musical journey from Vivaldi to Boccherini, passing through some Beatles’ repertoire, reinterpreted by guitarist Leo Brouwer.

A special evening with Christian De Sica that – accompanied by a bubbly big band of 18 elements, with words and songs – recounts his life as he might do among friends. The meetings of his life, some exhilarating anecdotes of his career, the faces of people he loved and loves flow in projection as in a movie made of words and notes.
Pino Strabioli, journalist, director and actor, will lead this fantastic ironic and exhilarating journey, playing the role of officiant.
A musical journey that will accompany us from the greatest American classics of his beloved swing, to the great Italian hits of the greatest authors, including Lelio Luttazzi.
A unique big band, led and orchestrated by Maestro Marco Tiso, with Maestro Riccardo Biseo at the piano.
The show will be punctuated by irresistible monologues and moving stories about his great father Vittorio, his childhood and his Christmas movies, that have accompanied the history of Italy over the past thirty years.

“Deposito d’Autore” – 10 artists to recall the relationship between Giovanni Carandente and Spoleto
Event organized by Sistema Museo
Sistema Museo, in collaboration with Casa Menotti, presents Friday, August 31, 2018 at 19.00 a special appointment of “Mezz’ora dopo la chiusura” entitled Deposito d’Autore – 10 artists to recall the relationship between Giovanni Carandente and Spoleto.
The meeting will be focused on the ten works on paper exhibited in the beautiful setting of Casa Menotti, thanks to the collaboration between Gianluca Marziani and the Monini family.
Afro, Burri, Capogrossi, Ceroli, Chadwick, Chillida, Consagra, Leoncillo, Melotti, Moore are the authors of the drawings and prints donated to Giovanni Carandente, to underline the friendship between the art critic and the greatest artists of the 20th century.
The appointment for the guided tour is at 19.00 at Casa Menotti – Piazza Duomo.
The evening continues with an aperitif.

On Friday, August 31st at 21.30, Italian singer Caparezza will perform at the Municipal Stadium (viale Martiri della Resistenza), with its Prisoner 709 Tour. The Tour promotes the homonymous seventh studio album by the brilliant artist, songwriter and rapper whose most peculiar expressive feature is stylistic contamination and sound eclecticism.
