On Sunday, May 26th at 9:30 PM at Sala Pegasus will be presented the documentary Apnea directed by Stefano Poggioni, Claudia Cataldi, and Elena Poggioni, featuring animations by the Spoletino illustrator Pietro Elisei and music by Giovanni Magaglio.
Directors and author of the animation will be present at the free event aimed at raising awareness among the public about immigration issues through the powerful medium of cinema.
Apnea is a documentary that tells the stories of fourteen boys and girls from Africa, guests of the SAI project of the Municipality of San Casciano in Val di Pesa. It offers an authentic testimony of the risks and challenges faced during the journey across the Mediterranean to Italy, highlighting the dramatic reality that drives these young people to seek a better life away from their homelands.
Produced under the patronage of the Municipality of San Casciano in Val di Pesa and in collaboration with Project SAI, the documentary is the result of a 2022 crowdfunding project carried out by The Factory PRD and has already won numerous awards, including Best Documentary Award at The Pigeon International Film Festival, Siffa Award, Ponza Film Festival, Madonie Film Festival, Audience Award at Asti Film Festival, and a Special Jury Mention at Catania Film Festival.
