BEHIND THE FESTIVAL SCENES: GUIDED TOURS AT TEATRO NUOVO ‘GIAN CARLO MENOTTI’
Discover the backstage of the theatre with the students from the Istituto di Istruzione Secondaria ‘Sansi Leonardi Volta’ and the Festival dei Due Mondi workers
The ‘Behind the Scenes of the Festival’ guided tours to discover the theatre and its secrets are back again this year.
The visits, scheduled during the three weekends of the 67th edition of the Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds, are a unique opportunity to discover the Teatro Nuovo ‘Gian Carlo Menotti’ from unprecedented points of view, to walk through and tread the stage spaces not open to the public where technicians and artists work, and to live a particularly suggestive experience.
Participants will be accompanied by the student guides of the Istituto di Istruzione Secondaria ‘Sansi Leonardi Volta’ prepared by art history teacher Lidia Antonini and the Festival dei Due Mondi staff, to discover the historical and artistic beauties of the theatre and the secrets hidden in the moments preceding a performance and to learn about its technical aspects.
The visits scheduled for Saturday are already sold out, but it is still possible to participate in those scheduled for Sunday 30th June at 10 a.m., Sunday 7th and 14th July at 11 a.m..
The guided tours, whose meeting point will be the portico of the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti, are free of charge. It is advisable to book preferably by 5 p.m. on the previous day by calling 0743 218620 or writing to info@iat.spoleto.pg.it specifying the names and providing a telephone number.
