*Unlike elsewhere, blood donorship in Italy is an actual donation and blood is not being sold but given for free for the needy, through the volunteer work of Donors’ Associations such as AVIS. This avoids “interested” donations by people who’d do it for money and not for charity, and all potential consequences thereof.
