Presentation

Dreams often take the form of hallucination or bizarre representation.
One of my recurring dreams, please do not elaborate, is to find myself in front of a table full of diners but lacking clothing in the part hidden by the table. Half-dressed or half naked. The thing in the dream produces extreme embarrassment for me. But isn’t this what has happened in recent years in remote meetings? Remote: a word that in Italian expresses a remoteness beyond distance.
The improbable, what seemed to belong to the sphere of the dream, has become reality. The dream has been downgraded to possibility, fortuitous chance, reducing its consequences to the unconscious level. Because, the unimaginable, when it becomes repetitive, loses depth.

To see the works, it seems that where the dream does not reach, imagination and a spirit of rebellion develops in the artist. After all, rebellion is something organic, something that every artist has experienced. Even simply by hiding the same rebellion behind sanitizers, ginger, or good luck charms.

In these last years, every form of survival-related alchemy has been experimented with. And, among the alchemies that enable survival and especially the descent of ideas, not species, is the work of art.

For each artist, in his or her own way, reinterprets his or her dreams, nightmares, in a key of acceptability. We are all, as the title of the exhibition says, “exposed” to fortuitous not just randomness but consequences.

Because a few meters of distance, a few coincidences, still make and will forever make a difference. (S.A)
