Teatro Nuovo “Gian Carlo Menotti”Although more than forty years have elapsed since the publication of the novel, the relevance of some problems that emerged in the second post-war period and that were examined by Böll in the early 1970s still remains: among these there are undoubtedly those concerning the use of the means of mass communication and the forms of violence inherent in media language.

“Staging a novel implies being able to count on performers who fully embody the different characters conceived by the author” comments director Franco Però. “It was fortunate for us to have this group of actors – members of the Compagnia del Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia – that I immediately envisioned in the various characters of the book. Peppino Mazzotta, a fair and complete artist, and Elena Radonicich, whom I found perfect to give life to Katharina Blum, have joined them – finally on the stage, after their happy cinema experiences and in the most followed television dramas”.
