The meetings will take place on Wednesday 18 December at the Sala Eugenio IV by the Rocca Albornoz and Thursday 19 December at the State Archives in Spoleto starting at 16.30.
Wednesday 18 dicembre Paola Mercurelli Salari will discuss the latest restoration works wich were performed at the Rocca Albornoz. Ikuvium R.C. srl restorer Roberto Fofi will detail the interventions for the recovery of painted and stone surfaces, while director of the Perugia State Archives Luigi Rambotti will illustrate the Rocca between the XVth and the XVIthe century, showing the emergences from the last studies on the archival documentation.
Maria Paola Bianchi will present her researches with her colleague Maria Rosaria Benvenuti, to identify the coats-of-arms of those who ruled over the fortress across time.
The event will finish Thursday 19 December at 16.30 by the Spoleto State Archives with a guided visit led by Maria Paola Bianchi, who will illustrate selected papers, statutes, edicts, notary and judicial deeds which turned out crucial for the identification of the coats-of-arms, shedding light on the methodology adopted.
The two meetings are but an anticipation of the series From the Museum to the Territory. Thematic, Cultural Itineraries by Sistema Museo, which will be introduced on Wednesday 18 December and will start in January 2020 on a monthly basis, on themes which will be first introduced at the National Museum of the Duchy of Spoleto, then examined in detail through visits to various areas.
