The work was produced for the memorable exhibition organized for the Festival Of Two Worlds, Sculture nella città. Spoleto 1962.
Colloquio spoletino (a.k.a. Colloquio col demonio “Spoletan Conversation” or “Conversation with the Devil”) was specifically conceived for the place where it actually stands, at the crossing of via Salara Vecchia and via Filitteria, where the iron contours soar over passersby.
It was created inside the Italsider plants, that were exceptionally opened to welcome the artists in their productive phase and conceded the use of structures, machineries and staff. It was then donated to the city by Consagra who remarked: “The world’s sculptors will always be grateful to Giovanni Carandente and Spoleto will remain unique. How can such a possible and wonderful agreement remain unrepeatable?”
Address: Via Salara Vecchia/Via Filitteria
