For the third year in a row, the Association “Italia Langobardorum”, the managing structure of the UNESCO serial site on the Langobards, of which Spoleto is one of the founding members, obtains the maximum possible funding from MiBACT.
277.777,78 € will help Association realize a series of projects for the valorization and sensitization of the culture of this people among the younger generations. In detail “The educational project for pupils and teachers through classical and multimedia methods for the dissemination of the values of the culture of the Langobards” includes the contribution to schools for educational trips, the realization of a multimedia app, interactive whiteboards and 7 videos, produced in partnership with the IULM of Milan, dedicated to the cities of the network.
In addition, after the success in the school year 2012/2013 during which the association has provided 96,000.00 € for educational trips, moving well over 3300 students of 156 classes, the experience will be repeated with a dedicated funding of 110,000.00 € to cover the great demand of the institutions.
The city of Spoleto, together with Brescia, is the coordinator of the project both from a technical and scientific point of view.
The serial site “The Langobards in Italy. Places of Power (568-774 A.D.)” was among the fifteen Italian UNESCO sites admitted to funding.
The educational-training project aims at disseminating the knowledge of the civilization and culture of the Langobards, with particular reference to schools. The actions are diversified and have the objective of testing different methods according to the school segment they are addressed to, so as to evaluate their effectiveness and select the best ones, and then extend them to other schools and other territories related to the presence of the Langobards in Italy, a priority objective of the managing structure of the site, so as to put in place a model of activity validated by the Association, to ensure the correctness of contents and quality.
“This is what makes us proud – said Mayor Fabrizio Cardarelli – the result of the commitment and professionalism, as well as the teamwork of all the UNESCO offices of the network that Spoleto coordinates. In addition to the thanks to all those involved in this exciting project, the commitment to spread the cultural, historical and identity knowledge of our heritage remains strong.
