The summer exhibitions at Palazzo Collicola open on Saturday 27 June at 12 noon. Gianluca Marziani, the artistic director of Palazzo Collicola Arti Visive di Spoleto, has chosen the artistic paths of Salvatore Emblema, Emanuele Giannelli, Matteo Peretti, Andrea Boldrini, Camilla Filippi, Danilo Santinelli, Federico Moretti. The exhibitions, included in the official programme of the Festival Of Two Worlds, will continue until 27th September 2015.
SALVATORE EMBLEMA “NudaLuce” by Gianluca Marziani in collaboration with Emblema Museum. An anthological journey into the painting of Salvatore Emblema (1929-2006), an artist from Campania who was loved by Giulio Carlo Argan and Palma Bucarelli, known for his consistent use of raw canvas and natural pigments, recreated in a relationship of deep filiation with the power of the Vesuvian landscape.
EMANUELE GIANNELLI “To Lie or Not To Lie” curated by Gianluca Marziani and Anna Lo Presti
Italian sculpture is back in the halls of the Piano Nobile. Emanuele Giannelli, combining consolidated techniques with the light materials of the present, recreates human anatomies between biological sciences, fantasy literature and social criticism. A Kubrickian short circuit with a strong scenographic impact.
MATTEO PERETTI “The Irony of Knowing (volume one)” curated by Gianluca Marziani
L’Ironia del Sapere (volume Uno e volume Due) is the title of the double retrospective dedicated to Matteo Peretti’s production. A single catalogue collects the artist’s entire production, including the performance project entitled “Samarcanda”, realized in Venice during the 2015 International Art Biennale.
ANDREA BOLDRINI “The Pantocrator’s Absence” curated by Gianluca Marziani and Andrea Barchiesi. Painting as a journey through time suspended within surreal vertigo that reformulates the notion of space and the open boundaries of the plausible. Boldrini constructs cerebral visions, dense in their oneiric floating, a sort of pictorial microfilm to redefine realistic margins and sense new metaphorical thrusts.
CAMILLA FILIPPI “Psychedelic Breakfast” curated by Gianluca Marziani. An actress and her transformation for an obsessive diary of everyday portraits. Defining the fixed method of pictorial acting, Filippi evolves the soul of Instagram and redefines the roles between cinema and visual art.
DANILO SANTINELLI “In sedimenti” curated by Gianluca Marziani and Andrea Barchiesi
The factory and its contemporary identity. The references of an imposing past subjected to the critical judgement of an ambiguous present, uncertain in values, where ideology deserves new narrative accounts. Santinelli short-circuits 20th-century socialist iconography (with its figurative derivatives), simulating strong memories within contaminated visions that would please Thomas Pynchon.
FEDERICO MORETTI “With eyes turned to the ceiling of course” curated by Gianluca Marziani and Andrea Barchiesi
The photographic portrait as an open, genetic code, to be completed using the biro’s “biological” gesture on the areas of apparent emptiness. The definition of floating identities is expressed in the artist’s slow method, in his flow of ink that becomes the oxygenating blood of the final image. A process between close-ups and inner discipline: to rethink appearances and (re)modulate the edges of the gaze.
Also on Saturday 27th at 17.00, the exhibition “FIBER ART” will be inaugurated, organized by the gallery Officina d’Arte&Tessuti in Spoleto with the important support of the City of Spoleto and Palazzo Collicola Arti Visive. The exhibition is curated by Giuseppina Caldarola, Bianca Cimiotta Lami and Lydia Predominato, and is accompanied by a critical text by Gianluca Marziani.
