Galleria ADD-art, 20 Mar – 29 Apr 2016
Arcana | Giulia Manfredi
Curated by Maddalena Rinaldi
Vernissage Sunday 20 March, h 18.00
Sunday 20 March at 18.00, Giulia Manfredi will open her personal exhibition ARCANA at the Galleria ADD-Art in Spoleto; the exhibition is curated by Maddalena Rinaldi.
The focus is on the concept of mystery, i.e. everything which has been stored, concealed from little-attentive, transient gaze, hidden and protected and, for this reason, mysterious.
The exhibition displays a selection of works by the artist, videos and installations, actual aesthetic experiments in which the transience of time overcomes cultural constraints, leading to continuous rebirth of matter.
The works on display are at the same time hidden and accompany the visitor’s gaze through a recurrent, natural process from life to death; they only disclose little of themselves and never once and for all.
ARCANA is an exhibition that requires an attentive, aware gaze, never satisfied by appearances.
The catalogue of the exhibition “Commutazioni – Giulia Manfredi” curated by Maddalena Rinaldi and published by ADD-art will be presented during the vernissage.
GIULIA MANFREDI (Castelfranco Emilia, 1984) studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna. In 2007 she moved to Berlin and frequented the UDK (Universität der Künste), collaborating with a collective of artists.
She has been exhibiting her works in Italy and abroad. Presently she lives and works in Rome.
