On the occasion of the five-hundreth anniversary from the release of “The Frenzy Of Orlando”, on Thursday 14 April there will be a literary symposium on Ludovico Ariosto’s masterpiece.

Lecturers include Nazareno Romani, who will speak of the poem’s structure and Marco Rambaldi, who will debate the work’s critical praise and the traces it left in culture and in contemporary collective consciousness.

Luigi Sammarco, chairman of the association “Città Nuova”, will contribute a critical introduction and an analysis of the human and educational relationship between Ariosto and Spoletan humanist Gregorio Elladio. Marina Antonini and Maurizio Armellini will read excerpts from the work.

The meeting is at 9.30 at the Biblioteca Comunale in Palazzo Mauri, 2nd floor.
