FOR “MEETINGS AT THE MUSEUM”
MARGHERITA GUCCIONE, DIRECTOR OF MAXXI ARCHITECTURE

May 18 – 5 pm

The MAXXI in Rome, the National Museum of XXI Century Arts, is “the first national institution devoted to contemporary creativity, conceived as a broad cultural campus.” It is a foundation with two museums devoted to architecture and art. It features a rotation of works from the permanent collection of Italian and foreign artists: Penone, Boetti, Mario Merz, Clemente, Kapoor, Kentridge, Richter etc. Numerous and continuous exhibitions of architecture, design, arts and materials of our time, are arranged in the five sections of the museum.

Building on the experience of the MAXXI, Margherita Guccione looks at the role of the museum in today’s society, to understand and interpret the profound changes that are transforming the museum institution, from the point of view of both its structure and its audience.

The cycle of meetings is organized in collaboration with ANISA, National Association of Art History Teachers.
