Sunday 10 July at 10.30 am, by the Public Library, there will be the presentation of Rosa Romani Toscani’s “La ragazza del Charlie’s Cafe”, at the presence of the author and of journalist Alfonso Marchese, who will introduce the novel.
“La ragazza del Charlie’s Cafe” is a love story, beautiful and terrible, passionate and tender, sweet yet bitter. The story of Hadji and Gemma unravels across Canada, Morocco and Calabria, a trip among intrigues, kidnappings and freak occurrences. The music and sounds of a Carnival feast are the background of the story’s light progress, that here and there stops for reflecting on historical and cultural matters, on the dialogue between apparently diverse cultures, till the final coup de théâtre, that will project the whole story onto a brand new poetic level.
The author has a degree in Literature and Philosophy, and in Psychology; she’s founding member of the Italian Society of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and member of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychoterapy in the Public Sector, and of the International Society for Adolescent Psychiatry. An enthusiast of French literature, she’s the chairwoman of the Italian Society of Friends of Honoré de Balzac”, which she penned some books on. She’s the author of a number of novels and essays, and writes on literature and psychology mags. She lives in Rome.
