Don Matteo‘s cast, Susanna Tamaro, Ladri di Carrozzelle, Terenzio Traisci are but some of the guests of the Spoleto Family Film Festival, a three-day (5 – 7 August) of films, concerts, meetings, performances, labs; for the first time, the city of the Festival organizes an event dedicated to Cinema, specifically aiming at families, that includes activities for all ages; the most beloved films and actors will give their spectators food for thought on themes that encourage intergenerational dialogue. The theme of this first edition is the circle of life.
The event, organized in the frame of the Ferragosto Spoletino, is organized by Lux Vide, a company specialised in the production of fiction (Don Matteo) and by Associazione Fiuggi Family Festival, that has organised family-oriented multimedia events in collaboration with the city administration and with Pro Loco Spoleto, CONSPOLETO and Confcommercio Spoleto for years.
The opening on Friday 5 August is in Piazza del Comune with the aperitive-party with some of the actors of Don Matteo (h 19) in Piazza del Comune, namely Francesco Scali (Pippo), Dalila Pasquariello (Sabrina) and Gabriele De Pascali (Alberto). The same piazza del Comune will be the location of the 22.00 pm concert by Ladri di Carrozzelle, the first Italian rock band composed of disabled musicians, with more than 1000 concert to their name, as well as tv and radio appearances, including the 1 May concert in Rome. Admission is 5 €.
On Saturday 6 August at h 18 in Piazza del Mercato there will be a performance by street artists, then at h 19 in piazza del Comune it will be the turn of a literary meeting that includes book presentations by young writers, at the end of which there will be a theatre show at 21.30, “Felicemente Stressati”, featuring Terenzio Traisci. Admission 8 €.
The closing day will be Sunday 7 August with the second appointment with the street artists and a book presentation with acclaimed writer Susanna Tamaro, at h 18.30. At 20.30 in Piazza del Comune there will be the prize-giving ceremony of the theatre- and cinema labs, and at 21.30 the film “Room”.
Everyday, twice a day, at h 10 and at h 16, there will be a theatre lab in Piazza XX Settembre and a videomaking lab at Palazzetto Ancaiani. The theatre lab is destined to 6 – 12 yo children and kids and aims at leading them to the learning of theatre, musical and recreational modalities that refer to the human body and to imagination and creativity.
The cinema lab aims at teaching the basic principles of cinema, its language, the various genres and framings. Direction and screenplaying, as well as history of cinema, will also be part of the lab.
