TEX AND SPOLETO. THE FRONTIERS OF ENRIQUE BRECCIA

The exhibition displays the relation between Argentinian Enrique Breccia and mythical hero Tex Willer; uninterruptedly published for over half a century, TEX is the longest-running character in the Italian world of comics and, along with Superman e Batman, in the world’s. The occasion has been provided by Enrique Breccia’s relocation to Spoleto, where he produced his last graphic works for Bonelli Publishing’s Tex. Captain Jack, presented in Milan on 23 June.
The exhibition focuses on some original tablets of this special issue of TEX # 31; they represent a chance to dive into comics and to better know the artist Enrique Breccia. During the exhibition there will be chances to get close to the many aspects of the world of comics:
The Jesi International School of Comics proposes a series of three-day workshops, one of which will be led by Enrique Breccia, for young and grown-ups; under the guidance of sector experts and artists, attendees will be introduced to comics’ language and to its narrative value, through the creation of a storyboard (Workshops’ schedule / paid admission, info: jesi@scuolacomics.it; ph. 0731 844181)
The Museo nazionale del Ducato proposes a cinematographic route in four steps (by Ivan Moliterni) to retrace the settings, narrations and imagery of the world of Tex Willer. Each projection will be introduced by a workshop that highlights the film, the cinematographic/historical context, the author and the language used. Open debate will ensue.
Besides, there will be two sessions of comics reading (by Giorgio Flamini) featuring actors reciting excerpts from comics by Enrique Breccia.
The admission to the latter sessions is included in the exhibition’s ticket.
A competition for Iind grade schools is also included: from half September to the end of October there will be meetings at school and the launch of a competition to create a new comic strip, the most original of which will be awarded in Spring 2017 by a jury of experts.

Tickets. Full fare €. 4,00 (> 25 yo); reduction €. 2,00 (18 – 25 yo); free to minors. A combined ticket including Museo Nazionale del Ducato and the exhibition is also available.
