Second appointment with the 2016-2017 Spoleto Prose Season. After the season opened with Branciaroli’s “Macbeth”, another major Italian actor, Umberto Orsini, will be on stage at the Teatro Gian Carlo Menotti,Saturday 29 October at 21.00, with the new, successful version of “The Rules of the Game”, a play that the actor has been repeatedly revisiting in the last twenty years, persuaded that one of the ways to preserve a classic work is that of rethinking it over and over, introducing continuous modifications and expatiations.

Orsini will meet the audience on Thursday 27 October at 16.30 at the Public Library; the meeting is organized by Associazione culturale SeminArte in the frame of the cycle of meetings “Condivisioni”, a path of vision and formation of the public.

 In Luigi Pirandello’s dark play, marriage, treason, honour and homicide follow one another in logical sequence. The novelty of this adaptation is that a future has been envisaged for the play’s main character, Leone Gala, that replaces the tragic ending of the original play, in which Gala cannot get rid of his past and lives it again and again in an entanglement of memories.
