The last event of the series “La Domenica dei Sogni”, conceived by Vincenzo Cerami in 2009 to promote theatre among the youngest generations: Sunday 5 March at 16.30 at the Teatro Nuovo “Gian Carlo Menotti”, “MOZTRI!”, by PRODUZIONE Luna and GNAC Teatro, featuring Michele Eynard and Federica Molteni, direction by Carmen Pellegrinelli.
This is the story of Tobia, a boy of few words, who loves being alone while sketching monsters. It is also the story of his parents, Cinzia and Augusto, desperate to have such a difficult son. Tobia cannot get his head together, hardly takes responsibilities and lives in a world of his own. A poor-scoring boy, according to his teacher’s educative standards. Yet Tobia is also a resourceful boy who opens the doors of his imaginary world and wonders through his own drawings.
Gaston Bachelard calls this rêverie: the capacity to let go one’s own fantasy and to daydream. Acknowledging and allowing the time for the rêverie to either a child or a kid is no little thing, it is a quality that few possess, a due form of trust and respect for a growing identity.
Will Tobia succeed in being understood by the grown-up? Are there adults available to listen to the dreams of their children? What would our own monsters look like, should Tobias put a pencil in our hands?
A poetic, comical play that captivates the young and moves the grown-up: which expectations do we have from our children? Do we take our children’s wishes into account? And when do we really stop believing our dreams?
Book rentals for kids will be available on the day of the show.
Tickets are on sale on 5 March, from 15.45 to 16.30: admission is free under the age of 18. Adults pay 6 €.
