Science and Philosophy Festival

The Foligno Science and Philosophy Festival opens for the first time with a preview in Spoleto. The Spoleto Vocational School of via Visso will be the location of the lecture “Charles Darwin’s Logbook”, by scientific journalist Pietro Greco and geologist and translator Guido Chiesura.

The festival’s previews scattered across Umbria aim at alerting the audience to the scientific themes faced along the festival, whose pivotal topic will be innovation.

Pietro Greco, journalist and writer, writes on a number of different sheets and has a radio programme at Radio3 Scienza. He also collaborates with universities on themes related to science and sustainable development. He is a founding member of Naples’ City of Science and member of the IPRA (Institute for Environment Research and Protection) Scientific Council.

Guido Chiesura, geologist, has been spreading Darwin’s work for decades. He wrote “Charles Darwin, Geologist”, and translated three of the English naturalist’s works. An adoptive Spoletan, Chiesura organized three geology missions in Santiago, Cabo Verde, on the steps of Darwin. In 2012 he last published “Darwin and the Baobab”.
