The series of meetings “Ladies’ Teatime – Women who have something to say”, continues on every first Thursday of the month at 17.30 at Palazzo Collicola. Each meeting features a guest of honour, a woman who will illustrate her peculiar activity to the other ladies, her creations and projects, for prospective collaborations or to share knowledge.
Last appointment of 6 April features restorer Adriana Gaggi. Her vast experience includes restoration at the Tempietto sul Clitunno, Rome (Arco degli Argentari and San Giorgio al Velabro), church of San Salvatore, Abbey of San Pietro in Valle, Basilica of S. Maria degli Angeli and Upper Basilica of San Francesco, at the Spoleto Cathedral (Erolis’ Chapel and apse) eight frescoes by Maestro delle Palazze and then Orvieto, Cascia, Sellano, Terni, Scheggino, Foligno, Naples (Cathedral), Chioggia, Matera, Viterbo, Padua (frescoes by Giotto at the Scrovegni Chapel). Restored works also include Perugino, Luca Signorelli, Andrea del Sarto, Alberto Sotio, Girolamo di Giovanni, Antonio Sparapane and Giovanni Boldini.
“Ladies’ Teatime” is a tribute to the culture of tea, a returning, trendy ritual of pleasant, convivial narration. Women around the tea-table freely discuss public affairs, politics, culture, social matters and habits, local issues.
It is a way to give a voice to existing, yet hidden realities, disclosing their experiences as women in the most diverse domains. Men are not necessarily prevented from assisting; they will be allowed in as long as they’ll tiptoe around the female universe of the area.
