On Thursday 30 November at 17,30, the Centro dell’infanzia il Glicine in viale Martiri della Resistenza will inaugurate the photographic exhibition “Through the Eyes of a Child – Children’s Gaze on the Earthquake“.
It is a travelling exhibition that occurs thanks to the farm La Quercia della Memoria, that manages the Agrinido della Natura-Agrinfanzia di San Ginesio, seriously struck by the 2016 – 2017 seismic swarm.
The travelling nature of the exhibition originates from the need to see without denying, to give a name and a meaning to what has been, to overcome trauma and develop awareness. The exhibition highlights aspects not only connected to the earthquake, but also encompassed in the history of growth and development, embracing themes like the building of identity, emotional literacy, abandonment, all the while highlighting the possibility to reflect on childhood and on the children’s capacity to create values out of all experiences. Pictures taken from older children while hanging around are a sign of how they pick up evolution from quotidianity. In the afternoons, the exhibition also features workshops for children, aged 0-6.
The exhibition will be visitable till Saturday 9 December with the following schedule:
- 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7 December, from 17.00 to 19.00
- 2 and 9 December, from 8.30 to 12.30 and from 17.00 to 19.00.
