The Spoleto Prose Season’s fourth appointment is with TODI IS A SMALL TOWN IN THE CENTER OF ITALY, a Teatro stabile dell’Umbria production which will be staged on Jan 8, 9 and 10 at the “Teatro Caio Melisso – Spazio Carla Fendi”.

What is life like in a small town? The play features the stories of Michele, Stella, Elisa and Caroline, four guys from Todi, a small tribe of people in their 30s, each one with his/her own rules and lifepace: appointments introduced by voice notes via whatsapp, routine meetings filled with boredom, small talk and invented pastimes. A fifth character, a documentarist, links fiction and reality while studying the city’s and its inhabitants’ features. What is life like where just everyone knows everybody else? What should you avoid doing in Todi? These are but some of the questions raised which were truly responded to by more than 100 actual Todi citizens. The play aims at providing their answers in a collage that breaks and sustains the four characters’ stories; a play that turns into a survey on public taboos and moral values.
