Huge success for “La Traviata”

A highly sucessful representation of Giuseppe Verdi’s “La Traviata”, on a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, was the result of the extraordinary committment by the musicans, singers and technicians involved, who produced an innovative setting and interpretation of the work. “La Traviata” is one of the few operas that can be successfully transposed without losing anything of the original meaning, said director Giorgio Bongiovanni.

Orchestra and choir were conducted by Mauro Presazzi, singers included Teatro Lirico competition winners Zdislava Bočková, Maria Luisa Lattante, Miryam Marcone, Noemi Umani, Alfredo da Emanuel Bussaglia, Ivaylo Mihaylov, Mauro Secci, Paolo CiavarelliFerruccio Finetti, Daniel Lee, Daniela Nineva, Miryam Marcone who alternated in the roles of Violetta, Alfredo, Giorgio and Flora.
Cast was completed by Klara Luznik (Annina), Alessandro Fiocchetti (Gastone), Alberto Crapanzano (Baron Duphol), Amedeo Testerini (Marquis d’Obigny), Giordano Farina (Doctor Grenvil), Nicola di Filippo (Joseph), Ivano Granci (Commissioner), Giuseppe Conti (Flora’s valet). Dancers were Benedetta Loccioni and Giulia Tizi.

After the Spoleto performances, “La Traviata” will be included in the 25th Umbria Opera Season at the Assisi Lyrick Theatre di Assisi, at the Teatro degli Illuminati in Città di Castello, at the Teatro Comunale in Todi and at the Teatro Mancinelli in Orvieto.
