Saturday 19 January 2019 at 9:30, FAUNA 2019 will be opened at the San Nicolò monumental complex in Spoleto. It will be the first edition of the Study Days on the Italian Wildlife in the frame of a project participated by the City of Spoleto among other private and public subjects.
The event will feature scholars, researchers and representatives of public bodies and scientific institutions.
The programme starts at 9.30 with the opening greetings and will feature a huge number of speeches, mainly pivoting on the figure of late Bernardino Ragni, formerly researcher of Animal Biology and professor of Environmental Zoology and Fauna Management at the Università degli Studi di Perugia, expert in tetrapods biology and conservation expert, and in living environmental resources’ sustainable use and conservation. He authored or co-authored more than 160 specilised, scientific publications and was member of the Species Survival Commission and of the IUCN Cat Specialist Group, of The World Conservation Union, and founder of the Environmental Biology Society.
