On Friday 21 June 2019 at 5 p.m., the hall of honour of Palazzo Leti Sansi (Via Arco di Druso, 37) will host the presentation of “La forza della società – Comunità intermedie e organizzazione politica”, a book by Giovanni Quaglia, president of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Torino, and Michele Rosboch (Nino Aragno Editore): a reflection on a current theme, also in consideration of the debate on institutional reforms.
Starting from an analysis of the function of mediation between politics and community carried out over time by various subjects, this publication proposes new models and new channels of comparison. In particular, the text analyses how the specific contribution that Foundations are called upon to offer today must increasingly be seen in the direction of strengthening their function of collective value between State and community, capable of generating usefulness in the form of social investments, solutions for inclusion and innovation. A visible function, for example, in mobilizing “patient capital” to encourage sustainability rather than short-term profitability of projects, and in supporting financially the risks of innovation by promoting initiatives with a positive social and environmental impact.
This book is therefore intended to be an in-depth analysis of the work of Foundations, as new “intermediate” articulations of the social fabric, promoting the growth of the territory and a new welfare of the community.
