Dolci d’Italia, a Festival of typical Italian sweets organized by Epta Confcommercio Umbria, is ready to open its doors in the historic center of Spoleto from 1 to 3 November 2019. Born from the commitment of Confcommercio Spoleto and the availability of the City of Spoleto, the event wants to offer the public all the quality and sweetness of the Italian dessert tradition. The presentation press conference was held today at the presence of Councilor Ada Urbani of the City of Spoleto, Tommaso Barbanera, President of Confcommercio Spoleto and Aldo Amoni, President of Epta. 

We are happy – says Aldo Amoni – to propose this brand new event, which we have been thinking about for a long time now. This is a launch edition and we have worked hard, together with the City administration and a number of bodies, to offer the public something unique and engaging. Great guests will be with us, such as Damiano Carrara and Dolcenera, present respectively with an exceptional cooking show and a beautiful concert. Both appointments, like all the others on the rich calendar, will be entirely free.

Downtown Spoleto will be the perfect setting for great guests, tasting appointments, regional and artisan sweets to taste and buy, cultural events to discover the novelties of the pastry world. This way, Dolci d’Italia offers visitors an all-round view of the world of sweets and aims to involve children thanks to the “Young Pastry Chef” format, curated by Chef Annalisa Benedetti in collaboration with the Per Loro Association. 

There will be a rich area dedicated to free cooking shows, to discover all the secrets of confectionery: the Sweet Academy at the San Nicolò complex. Friday 1 November starts at 11.00 with Confartigianato Umbria and continues at 12.30 with the talented youngsters of the State Professional Institute for Catering and Tourist Services “De Carolis” in Spoleto. The afternoon opens at 15.30 with the Pasticceria Cintioli, while at 5.00 pm the world of Gluten-free Pastry by Chef Francesco Favorito arrives. On Saturday 2 November it’ll be Damiano Carrara’s turn, who’ll arrive at 11.00. At 3.30 pm the boys of the Institute “De Carolis” return and at 17.00 the best gelato maker of the world 2017, Alessandro Crispini arrives, with From the Alps to Mount Etna passing through the Apennines. On Sunday 3 November at 11.00 it is possible to participate in the delicious cooking show signed by the Perugina® Chocolate School with the Master Chocolatier Alberto Farinelli. At 12.30 the youngsters of the Alberghiero Institute are once again protagonists; at 3.30 pm it’s time for Gennari, official dealer of Rational and Carpigiani, while the final appointment of 17.00 will be Dessert Evolution with the Vegan Pastry Chef Emanuele Di Biase.

The city’s shopes and restaurants will be widely involved in the event and participate directly by joining Sweet Shopping. To find all the offers reserved for visitors to Dolci d’Italia, all you need to do is look for the special window sticker exhibited by the participants!
