Walking Among the Olive Groves National Day

More than 150 have joined the walk across the Monti Martani
Huge success for the hike organized on the occasion of the National Day of the Walk among the Olives. The event, that the city of Spoleto has joined for the third year in a row, was participated by over 150 people.
This year the hike has taken on an international character, thanks to the presence of Brazilian, Australian and Austrian tourists.

The hike on a 7 km ring route across the Monti Martani (start and arrive at Ocenelli), was crowned by a guided visit at the Castello de La Costa and the hermitages of Sant’Onofrio and San Girolamo, exceptionally opened for the occasion.

Participants could taste local products, including new oil, thanks to the market organised by the former school in Ocenelli, now a visitor centre.

The lunch offered by the local Associazione Territorio e Tradizioni Cima Panco was totally plastic free thanks to the use of disposable flatware in cellulose pulp.

A particular thank you goes to Associazione “Le Cinciallegre”, a Spoletan traditional folk group which offered a concert at the end of the hike.
