The Spoleto New Year’s Eve highlights will include the duo Tony Esposito / Enrico Capuano and his Tammurriatarock band, in Piazza Garibaldi (from 10.30 pm), whose show mixes rhythmic, Neapolitan sound with folk rock. The street band “Banda Irè” will parade through the streets of the historic center, in the squares and spaces of the upper city, enchanting the audience with a repertoire of samba, axe music (Brazilian musical genre between reggae and calypso) and funky.
At 24.00, a fireworks display is scheduled to be launched from the Rocca Albornoz park which will be visible from the lower side. To allow the fireworks to take place, the Giro della Rocca will be closed to all from 23.00 to 01.30.

This is the schedule of events programmed by the City of Spoleto to celebrate the new year. On the occasion of the celebrations, the travelator that connects the Posterna parking lot to the uptown will be operating until 3.30 at night.

Tony Esposito is one of the most appreciated Italian musicians, a tireless experimenter of pop, ethnic world music and Kalimba fusion, authors of hits such as “Calimba de Luna” and “Papa Chico”; Enrico Capuano is one of the forefathers of Italian Folk, his Tammurriatarock is an artistic project that blends the Italian musical tradition with rock music that enjoys a remarkable live support. In 2009 Capuano hit a record high with over 100 concerts. Capuano has been collaborating with O’Zulu, PFM, Grazia Di Michele, Francesco Baccini, Caparezza, Niccolò Fabi and many others. Tammurriatarock is the title of one of his albums and is the musical plot of his experience as an Italian singer-songwriter. At the concert on May 1, 2011 in Piazza S. Giovanni in Laterano, Capuano conducted the first part of the big event and subsequently performed with the band Tammurriatarock in front of a six-digit audience. Since 2011, Capuano and Tammurriatarock have also been touring extensively across the USA and Canada.
