Developing a video game to promote and enhance our cultural and environmental heritage, through languages and tools that can stimulate the younger generations to dive into the museums of Umbria.
Entertainment Game Apps has been entrusted with one of the activities included in the project “Museum connections: between valleys and mountains, villages and cities” by the City of Spoleto, leader of a network of 11 museums and institutions in the territory of Spoleto and Valnerina.
Entertainment Game Apps will create a video game for smartphones and tablets that can be used as a playful, promotional and educational tool both on site and off site, i.e. outside the museum premises, in order to enhance the institutions and territories involved in the project.
“Through new digital technologies,” said councillor for culture Ada Urbani, “visitors will be able to enjoy a vast territory that extends from the city of Spoleto to the Valnerina. By using special applications, video games and augmented reality software, we are convinced that we will be able to provide a more immersive and engaging cultural experience and, moreover, in times of emergency linked to the COVID-19, these technologies will guarantee safer access“.
The project includes a targeted statistical survey, which will aim at analysing the knowledge of the territory before and after the release of the video game.
The museums involved in the network are Palazzo Collicola (leader), Casa romana, Museo del Tessuto, Laboratorio di Scienze della Terra, Museo delle Miniere, Museo della ex ferrovia Spoleto-Norcia, Museo della Canapa di Sant’Anatolia di Narco, Museo del Ciarlatano, Museo delle Mummie di Cerreto, Museo dei racconti di Vallo di Nera, Museo della Biga. The project involves the collaboration of the Rocca Albornoziana – National Museum of the Duchy of Spoleto, National Archaeological Museum and Roman Theatre (awaiting confirmation), Galleria Officina d’Arte&TEssuti, CEDRAV, CISAM, ANISA (Italian Association of Art History Teachers), CONSPOLETO, “G.
