In accordance with safety protocols and current health emergency regulations, rehearsals for the production of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” will begin on Tuesday 16 February as planned, at the Teatro Nuovo “Gian Carlo Menotti”. Edward Albee‘s masterpiece which will be directed by Antonio Latella.
The show will be starred by Sonia Bergamasco, Vinicio Marchioni together with Ludovico Fededegni and Paola Giannini. The lighting design is by Simone De Angelis from Spoleto.
The world premiere of the show, included in the Spoleto Prose Season, is scheduled for 21 March, and subject to any government measures or restrictions to contain the COVID emergency.
“We are ready to welcome – explains Councillor for Culture Ada Urbani – the cast of this prestigious and eagerly awaited theatre production, which will be in Spoleto in a few days and will remain in the city for a long period of rehearsals. A reason for particular pride is that the workers involved in the show, who have been working for years with the Teatro Stabile dell’Umbria, are all from Spoleto. The city will also be involved in the making of a documentary that will be filmed during the rehearsals for the show, with the participation of the local population.”
