75th Teatro Lirico Sperimentale Opera Season
After the success of the preview, the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale starts preparing for the Season’s opening: THE RAPE OF LUCRETIA by Benjamin Britten, musical direction by Salvatore Percacciolo, direction by Giorgina Pi.
Yesterday afternoon, the voices of the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale met the director and her Bluemotion company – made up of assistant director and musician Valerio Vigliar and lighting designer Andrea Gallo – to start rehearsals for the show, in strict compliance with anti-Covid regulations.
The director, one of the most interesting and visionary personalities on the Italian theatre scene, had the opportunity to get to know the large company of the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale, made up of the winners and suitable candidates of the “European Community” Competitions, and singers selected by the Artistic Direction of the Institution: Chiara Boccabella (soprano), Elena Salvatori (soprano), Nicola Di Filippo (tenor), Federico Vita (tenor), Cecilia Bernini (mezzo-soprano), Daniela Nineva (mezzo-soprano), Candida Guida (contralto), Luca Bruno (baritone), Matteo Lorenzo Pietrapiana (bass-baritone) and Giacomo Pieracci (bass).
The Rape of Lucretia will be staged at the Teatro Caio Melisso in Spoleto on 3 and 4 September at 21.00, on 5 September at 17.00.

The season will continue with Intermezzi del ‘700, which this year will feature Leonardo Vinci’s L’AMMALATO IMMAGINARIO, on stage at the Teatro Caio Melisso on 10 and 11 September, at 21.00 and 12 September, at 17.00. On 15 September at 21.00, at the Complex of Villa Redenta, the appointment with the evening of Operalieder entitled this year L’AMORE DA LONTANO. The programme will conclude with the new production of MADAMA BUTTERFLY by Giacomo Puccini, on stage at the Teatro Nuovo di Spoleto on 17 and 18 September at 8.30 p.m. and on 19 September at 5 p.m.
In 2021 the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale was awarded the TARGA DEL PRESIDENTE DELLA REPUBBLICA for its 75 years of activity.
