Francesco Baccini resumes touring in Summer, 2021 and stops at Spoleto: the appointment with the concert “Voice and piano” is for Thursday 19 August at h 21 at Spazio Collicola.

The Genoese singer-songwriter proposes the essence of his music in a riveting concert for piano and voice. “Ho voglia di innamorarmi”, “Le donne di Modena”, “Genova Blues” are but some of his hits that will not be missing from the impromptu setlist that will change every night.

Biography
One of the most eclectic songwriters and authors on the Italian scene, FRANCESCO BACCINI has a thirty-year career as a singer-songwriter. Eager for new adventures, thanks to his transversal temperament, he is always open to new collaborations that allow him to best express his different artistic and creative inclinations (singer-songwriter, actor, author, composer, etc.)

Music
His debut album, “Cartoons”, dates back to 1989, was awarded as a revelation at Saint Vincent and won the Targa Tenco as best debut; the same year he wins Un disco per l’estate with “Figlio unico”. The second album, “Il pianoforte non è il mio forte” includes the single “Le donne di Modena” and “Genova blues” featuring Fabrizio De André (a friend of his, whom he had met at the presentation of his first album in Milan and of whom he had always been a great admirer), ignites a series of collaborations. In 1990, he wins the Festivalbar with “Sotto questo sole”, featuring Paolo Belli and the “Ladri di Biciclette”. The album “Nomi e cognomi” of 1992 is his hugest commercial achievement. Other 11 albums would follow, including two “Best Ofs” and his most precious “Baccini sings Tenco” in 2011, and his last work “Chewingum Blues” featuring Sergio Caputo (2017).

Cinema, acting and the soundtracks
Baccini made his acting debut in 2008 in the film ‘Zoé’ and has participated in several short films. Among these was his starring role in “Nero Fuori”, which won him the Best Revealing Actor award at the 2010 “I Have Seen Film International”, an award presented by Rutger Hauer.

In 2010 he wrote “Maschi contro femmine”, title track of the film by the same name by Fausto Brizzi, a box-office hit. A song of his was chosen for the end credits of the soon-to-be-released docufilm dedicated to Francesco Nuti. He also took part in the docufilm ‘Immenzo’ dedicated to Enzo Jannacci, where he talked about his friendship and collaboration with the Milanese artist.

Lately he acted in “Credo in un solo padre” by Luca Guardabascio, and also wrote the soundtrack. The film deals with the delicate issue of family violence and violence against women.

In 2020, during the pandemic, he decided to make a film based on the images shot by Michele Burgay during the theatre tour “Baccini sings Tenco” (del 2011). The film “Tu non hai capito niente” introduces for the first time the life, works and words of Luigi Tenco.

Social networks and media
Baccini is presently on the air with two talk show, “Farmacia Musicale Notturna” and “Nell’occhio del Grifone” both on his channel on TwitchTV. Baccini never hid his penchant for social networks: Those who have been following him for many years know that he usually appears in the middle of the night with Facebook or Instagram live broadcasts, talking about current affairs, entertaining his ‘virtual’ guests in his living room with his trusty piano and his dachshund and, at the end of the ‘live’ broadcast, erasing all traces of it from the web.

His forays into the world of radio are worthy of attention: from free radio in Genoa to the Superbacc programme that aired every Sunday in prime time on RTL, to the Guinness World Record live broadcast in which he managed to hold the microphone from 9 a.m. until 6 a.m. the next day on Radio 105.

Clear characteristics of his transversal nature are his unmistakable, warm, versatile, enveloping voice, his ability to interact fluidly live with external interventions, his ability to play any musical genre on the piano, improvising and interpreting pieces that are not necessarily his own musical production, his direct knowledge of music as a musician and, of course, his unquestionable popularity that makes him immediately recognisable as a long-time friend.
