The eagerly awaited 26th Mushroom and Wild Herb Exhibition Market returns, organised by the Pro Loco di Spoleto, a voluntary association which thus resumes its activity at the service of the city. An important event that promotes knowledge of the natural resources of the territory, aimed at promoting respect for nature and improving its gastronomic use, without neglecting the various medicinal aspects, such as phytotherapy and ayurvedic medicine.
The exhibition market is awaited not only by expert mycologists, but also by many mushroom enthusiasts who, thanks to the first rains, are already finding excellent mushrooms.
“Three days to visit and taste – announces President Patrizia Colangeli – where, in addition to the many exhibitors from many Italian regions, the pro locos of the Spoletan Valley will present their best dishes. A combination already experimented in 2019, which has been very successful, because the culinary tradition is not only deeply felt in our territory, but is a pleasant discovery for tourists. There will be many conferences, organised by the University of Tastes and by Cedrav, which are sure to enthral adults and children alike”.
An event that combines traditions, innovations and curiosities, giving people the chance to visit Spoleto which, even in colder temperatures, always offers remarkable artistic beauty.
The Market Exhibition will be held on 30, 31 October and 1 November in Piazza Garibaldi and the Auditorium della Stella.
On 24 October, the Chestnut Day will return, a day dedicated to collecting chestnuts and mushrooms under the centuries-old chestnut trees of Montebibico, followed by a rich traditional lunch.
“We expect many people to join us on Chestnut Day,” continues the President, “because traditions are also important for our children and grandchildren, and introducing them to nature is always a source of joy and a sense of freedom.”
The 26th Mostra Mercato dei Funghi e delle Erbe Spontanee has many products and curiosities to offer, and is also a journey through flavours, in the knowledge that our region has much to offer.
