‘Curtains off! Behind the scenes of an emotion’
More than 50 participants and a waiting list of more than 20 people. The initiative ‘Sipario! Dietro le quinte di un’emozione‘ (‘Behind the scenes of an emotion’), organised on the occasion of the 18th National Day of Urban Trekking and dedicated to the relationship between the city and the theatre through popular and singular characters from Spoleto’s recent past, was a success.
Three narrators accompanied participants on a “behind the scenes” tour of the theatre: architect Giuliano Macchia, journalist Moreno Carlini and Fausto Manasse, who recited a passage from Alberto Talegalli’s ‘Sor Clemente’.
A journey in stages from the Teatro Romano to the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti, passing through the Teatro Caio Melisso – Spazio Carla Fendi and the Teatro delle 6 Luca Ronconi to learn more about aspects and particularities of a long and glorious theatrical tradition through anecdotes, archaeology and theatre history.
The urban trek was an opportunity to celebrate Alberto Talegalli, a skilled actor and screenwriter, a fine humorist, creator and interpreter of the character of Sor Clemente, a memorable mask in many hilarious sketches that are part of the collective imagination of those years.
The City of Spoleto would like to thank Giuliano Macchia, Moreno Carlini, Fausto Manasse and the staff of the theatres for making this first event dedicated to the history of theatre in Spoleto possible.
