Rodney John Lokaj, professor of Italian philology at the University of Enna “Kore” and Luigi Rambotti, former director of the State Archive of Perugia, will give a lecture on the illustrious (and today little known) scholar from Spoleto who was among the first commentators on the Divine Comedy in the 15th century and who counts among his pupils S. Bernardino da Siena and Enea Silvio Piccolomini, the future Pope Pius II.

The conference will be attended by Danilo Chiodetti, councillor for the enhancement of culture, quality and beauty of the city and territory of the City of Spoleto and Cinzia Rutili, director of the State Archive of Perugia.

The event is part of the DANTE NELLE TERRE DEL DUCATO initiatives organised by the Biblioteca comunale “Giosuè Carducci” and the Archivio di Stato di Perugia on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s death.
