A shared Christmas: Weekend events

Santa arrives in Piazza del Mercato. The exhibition of cribs in via Saffi and via di Visiale, followed by readings, cinema and entertainment for children.

The initiatives planned for ‘A shared Christmas‘ continue. Eight events are scheduled for the weekend.

The whole starts tomorrow Saturday, December 11 at 15.30 at Palazzo Mauri with ‘Reading under the tree‘. Entrance is free but subject to booking (0743.218801). At 5.00 p.m., ‘Gli sbandati Marching Band‘ will stroll through the streets in downtown Spoleto.

On Sunday 12 December, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the ‘Mercato dell’antico…aspettando il Natale’ (Antique market…waiting for Christmas) returns to Piazza della Libertà, Corso Mazzini and Piazza Pianciani, while in Piazza del Mercato, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., adults and children will be welcomed by Father Christmas, an initiative organised by the Italian Red Cross, Spoleto Committee.

Also on Sunday 12, but at 10.30 am, Sistema Museo has organised a guided trek to discover ‘Palazzo Collicola and the noble residences‘ of Spoleto (for info and reservations please call 0743.224952 or 0743.46434). For young fans of the seventh art there is instead ‘Breakfast at the Cinema‘ (always at 10.30 am) with the screening of the film La gabbianella e il gatto (Lucky and Zorba) at the Sala Pegasus Cinema, an event with free admission wanted by the city administration.

At 11.30 a.m. in via Aurelio Saffi (Sala degli Ori) there will be the inauguration of the 10th edition of ‘Spoleto, the city in a crib’ by the Pro Loco di Spoleto ‘Antonio Busetti’. The works created will be visible at the Sala degli Ori, at the exit of the alternative mobility in piazza Campello and in via di Visiale.

In via del Mercato, from 3.30 p.m. to 6 p.m., entertainment for boys and girls with ‘La scatola d’oro‘ (The golden box) organised by the Associazione Il filo rosso (for more information please call 328.1531304)
