An appointment with music and solidarity that the Spoleto Festival presents on Monday 18th April, at 6 pm at the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti on the occasion of Easter. The tragedy that has struck the Ukrainian population in these weeks does not leave indifferent especially in front of the drama of the refugees who had to leave their homes. For this reason the Festival of Two Worlds dedicates a special concert to the Ukrainian families hosted in Spoleto.

The Spoleto-for-Ukraine fundraising evening is aimed at children and families. The proceeds will be donated to the Spoleto-Norcia diocesan Caritas, which provides assistance and support to Ukrainian families in the area.

It is not just a concert the one proposed by the Europa InCanto Orchestra conducted by Germano Neri: Symphonic Dialogues – Symphony No. 5 by Ludwig van Beethoven is the title of the show that combines the music of the most iconic and famous of Beethoven’s symphonies – the Fifth op. 67 whose peremptory, iconic and dazzling opening is known to all – with the interaction of an actor with the audience, for a completely new experience of listening to symphonic music.
Tickets will be on sale from Tuesday 29 March at the price of €10.

The format inaugurates the Festival’s new didactic project: from now until the sixty-fifth edition, students will be involved in a path that includes training meetings, in-depth lessons and workshops to approach the knowledge and listening to music, up to a moment of performance during the Festival.

The Easter Monday event and the entire project are organised in collaboration with the Associazione Musicale Europa InCanto, which was founded in 2012 with the aim of educating young people and raising their awareness of art and culture, with particular attention to the world of opera. It develops cultural, musical and educational projects, promoting important collaborations with the Teatro di Roma, Fondazione Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Eliseo in Rome, Fondazione Teatro Comunale in Bologna and other Italian musical institutions. In 2013 it was awarded the Illica Prize and later received the recognition of “Project of Excellence” by the Ministry of Education, University and Research. During the 2017/2018 edition, it received the patronage of the Senate of the Republic and, in the same year, EICO (Europa InCanto Orchestra) was born, formed by young musicians aged 18 to 35.
It has also achieved numerous goals on a European scale. It is the winner of Creative Europe projects, collaborates with international artistic partners and participates in the conference “High-level on cultural heritage in Europe” with “Aida”, at the European Parliament in Brussels.
