The brand new production of the show ‘Pedalare! Pedalare! Pedalare!” on stage at the Auditorium della Stella at 7.30 p.m.
The show, linked to the world of cycling, is a tribute to the ‘Spoleto Norcia in MTB‘, one of the most important cycling events in Italy.
Pedalare! Pedalare! Pedalare! stages a light-hearted, yet high-impact reality, based on a true story from the early 1900s, contemporary in its essence. It is about Alfonsina Strada, a woman who felt the powerful call of the two wheels that cleaved the air and the paths of life. She was the first woman to compete in men’s races such as the Giro di Lombardia and the Giro d’Italia (1924) and is considered one of the pioneers of the equalisation of male and female sport. She embodied her desire, modelled her authenticity with strength and courage. She remained simply herself, in fame, in frustration, in the humiliation brought on by the conflict with dynamics anchored in social conventions that are hard to shake.
Written and performed by Laura Frascarelli and Leonilde Gambetti, the show is directed by Jared McNeill, who also took care of the lighting design in collaboration with Arianna De Angelis Marocco, who took care of the movement design.
The project was produced in Artistic Residency by La Mama Umbria International in collaboration with the Piano B group of the Teude Association, and avails itself of the technical staff of ‘The Humid Squad‘, composed of very young professionals who already have a wealth of experience in the artistic field to their credit.
