Project presentation and screening of the first episode.

Spoleto, Saturday 3 September 2022, piazza Garibaldi

Sweetwalk: from Spoleto to Caprareccia’ is the title of the first episode of the mini-documentary realised by the City of Spoleto in collaboration with RAI UMBRIA and GAL Umbria to inform nationally and internationally about Umbria’s beauties and support small Umbrian businesses along the routes and enhance local products.

The screening will be held on Saturday 3 September at 5 p.m. in Piazza Garibaldi, on the occasion of the SpoletoNorcia in MTB 2022, a cycle tourism event that attracts thousands of sport enthusiasts, bike and nature lovers, on one of Italy’s most beautiful cycle routes.

Brainchild of RAI production technician Valeria Giulianelli, who also oversaw its realisation and direction, the project was promoted by Giovanni Maria Angelini Paroli, Councillor for Marketing and Business Innovation and Tourism 4.0 for the enhancement of the local economy, to give prominence to the strategic itineraries in which Umbria abounds, now recognised as excellences at an international level, such as, for example, the Assisi – Spoleto – Norcia cycle route, which received the award for Italy’s most beautiful Green Route in 2015, or the pilgrimage routes such as the Benedictine and Franciscan paths, and to promote and incentivise sustainable tourism, highlighting the so-called ‘gentle routes’ and local producers or artisans and young entrepreneurs who have chosen to live respecting nature.

Five episodes were recorded (‘From Spoleto to Caprareccia’; ‘From Spoleto to Sant’Anatolia’; ‘From Spoleto to Vallo di Nera’; ‘From Spoleto to Cerreto and Borgo Cerreto’; ‘From Spoleto to Norcia’) thanks to the collaboration of Alessandro Pratelli, who took care of the video filming and photography direction, Carlo Bartolucci, filming organiser, assistant director and propsman, Federica Mastroforti, photo/video backstage manager, and Gabriele Liberati, audio video editing manager.

From Spoleto to Caprareccia‘, the first episode, is divided into three stages, from Spoleto to Cortaccione | from Cortaccione to Matrignano | from Matrignano to Caprareccia, and features Sandro Sabatini, Chiara Coricelli, Paolo Capocci, Mauro Magrini and Luigi Fasciglione, who tell of the naturalistic beauties, typical features and historical-cultural elements of the stretch in question from their point of view.
