Weekend full of events to get to know the historical and artistic heritage of the city and the surroundings
The programme of themed guided tours organised by Sistema Museo to discover the precious historical and artistic testimonies of the museums and churches of Spoleto and the territory continues.
Scheduled for this weekend, from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 September, are the themed guided tours “Dall’alto delle torri” (From the top of the towers) to discover the Camera Pinta and the defensive routes of the Albornoz Fortress, an opportunity to discover the close relationship between the defensive function of the fortress and its strategic position in the territory. Then there will be “Capolavori da Museo” (Museum Masterpieces), a guided tour of the Spoleto Card museum collections, a unique opportunity to fully experience the museum tourist card and discover the precious historical and artistic heritage of Spoleto and Campello sul Clitunno.
On Sunday 11 September at 11 a.m. a ‘Passeggiata nella storia’ (Walk through history) is scheduled, a guided trek through the city and to the Church of Saints John and Paul (the appointment will be at the ticket office of Palazzo Collicola). Trekking in the city is free for Spoleto Card holders. Those who do not have the Spoleto Card will be able to participate in the themed guided tours scheduled at a reduced rate of € 4.00 per person in addition to the museum ticket, and in the city treks at a rate of € 7.50 per person, in addition to the museum ticket, where applicable.
The visits ‘DALL’ALTO DELLE TORRI’ will be held on Friday 11 a.m. – 12 noon, Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. – 12 noon – 4 p.m. – 5 p.m., while those related to the ‘MUSEUM MASTERPIECES‘ are thus organised:
Una nobile passeggiata – Palazzo Collicola – Saturday 4pm; Uno scrigno di antiche pitture – Chiesa dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo – Saturday 5pm; Un monumento che affascina da secoli – Tempietto sul Clitunno – Saturday 6pm and Una domus da sogno – Casa Romana – Sunday 3pm. For all guided visits, the ticket is € 4,00 (full)| € 3,00 for Spoleto Card holders and people aged 7 – 17 yo| Free till the age of 6 |Upon purchase of the Spoleto Card or the museum ticket.
Thematic guided tours and city treks are by reservation only, subject to availability and in accordance with the current Covid-19 regulations.
For city treks, reservations are compulsory by 6 p.m. on the previous Saturday.
