Third and last concert for the ‘Spoleto Jazz 2022’ review, the event promoted and organised by Visioninmusica under the artistic direction of Silvia Alunni, which focuses on young Italian and international jazz talents.

On Friday 18 November, on the stage of the Caio Melisso Theatre, at 9 p.m., the Colombian pianist and singer Jesús Molina will arrive. Together with his band, formed by Jose Irarragorri on guitar, Guy Bernfeld on double bass and Jorge Pérez on drums, he will present his latest musical project, ‘Agape‘. The repertoire will include some jazz classics rearranged by him, such as Spain by Chick Corea, Giant Steps by John Coltrane and A Night in Tunisia by Dizzy Gillespie, along with other surprises in which his solo voice will also be heard.

From traditional jazz to ragtime to stride jazz piano, Molina is an unstoppable talent, with a wide-ranging creative and musical spectrum between contemporary jazz, modern jazz and gospel, styles that he skilfully and talentfully blends.

Growing up in Sincelejo, Colombia and living in Los Angeles, Jesús Molina started playing the saxophone at the age of 12 and at the age of 15 decided to change instruments and specialised in piano, where he excelled to an astonishing degree. In 2016, he received the prestigious Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation Awards and is, to date, one of the rising stars of the international jazz scene.

Although very young, he has shared the stage with some of the greatest musicians in the industry such as Jordan Rudess, Noel Schajris, Marco Minnemann, Rudy Perez, Randy Brecker, Randy Waldman, Zedd and Jesus Adrian Romero. At only 26 years old, the artist has signed five albums and Agape is his latest release.

Tickets, costing 15 euros (full price) and 12 euros (reduced price), are on sale on Vivaticket.
