New Year’s Eve in music in Spoleto. On the night of Saturday 31 December, we return to the piazza to greet the year 2022 with Marco Ligabue in concert followed by a DJ set.
An evening of music, then, in Piazza Garibaldi starting at 10.30 p.m., with the Sarà Bellissimo Tour 2022, Marco Ligabue’s electric tour that for years has involved squares all over Italy with new songs and Italian covers revisited in a rock key. It will be an opportunity to return to dance and listen live to old and new songs by the Emilian singer-songwriter, a show that focuses on the artist’s rock attitude accompanied on stage by the irreplaceable guitarist Jonathan Gasparini, drummer Leonardo Cavalca and the very young bassist Luca Spaggiari.
The night in music will continue with a DJ set by Herman La Rose, who boasts 10 years’ experience in private parties and discos in central Italy, with a nationwide format with which he has performed in prestigious Italian clubs, and Kill the voice, a vocalist who ranges from discos in central Italy to the most prestigious events in the squares.
The evening will be hosted by Silvia Santarelli, engineer, author and TV presenter of several entertainment formats and radio speaker.
A not-to-be-missed event to greet the arrival of the new year, sharing the passion for music and the newfound desire to experience it live.
Marco Ligabue began his career as a singer-songwriter in 2013, but his path as a musician began much earlier and after 20 years as a guitarist and songwriter in the bands Little Taver and Rio, he debuted with the first single ‘Ogni piccola pazzia’ and his debut album, ‘Mare Dentro’, immediately reached number 16 in the FIMI charts, which was followed by the albums ‘L.U.C.I. (Le Uniche Cose Importanti – The Only Things That Matter)’ and ‘Il mistero del DNA’.
In addition to the three albums, he released several singles in the last two years ‘Che Bella Parentesi’, ‘Quante Vite Hai’ and ‘Altalena’. To celebrate his 50th birthday, the first record collection entitled ‘Tra via Emilia e blue jeans’ was released on 30 October 2020. An album with his best-loved songs that recount thirty years of music, first as a guitarist and then as a singer-songwriter.
Being very socially committed, several charity tracks have been released, often in collaboration with other artists, including international ones.
Marco Ligabue also told his full story in a book ‘Salutami tuo Fratello’, an intimate and sincere account of his private life, enlightening memories, ironic anecdotes and a lot of rock’n’roll. “A rather lively cross-section that I hope will make you travel with your mind,” said the artist, “from my childhood spent at the Tropical, the dance hall where we grew up, to my first musical band that reflected an era where in Emilia people ate capelletti in broth to the rhythm of AC/DC. I’ll introduce you to my gang, girlfriends, the formidable cook who is my mother, and we’ll go back in time to attend the very first Luciano concert, the memorable U2 live show in Modena, but also to pick up beautiful chicks on the Romagna Riviera.”
With immediate and fresh writing, ‘Salutami tuo Fratello’, which has since become a tour, stages everyday situations, youthful adventures and memorable exploits, enriched by tender family stories and many hilarious episodes from his life as an artist. Pages steeped in warmth and authenticity, with an unmistakable Emilian flavour, that flow by quickly, leaving a smile on the lips and the desire to get to know and become friends with their author.
